
We write memoir for many reasons. Maybe we have a story to tell. Maybe we want to get our lives recorded to leave something for our family. Maybe we have literary ambitions. Or we may simply want to explore what it is to be us.
At the beginning of the Writing Home Challenge, I asked for your reasons for taking part, and about a third of you said gaining insights/healing past wounds was your primary reason. But even those who were looking to improve their writing skills are likely to find that writing memoir brings them new insights and some measure of healing.
