It’s Week 5 of the Writing Home Therapeutic Writing Challenge - and here’s this week’s challenge: try some EFT tapping!

The demo video is above. Once you’ve watched it, I suggest you set aside 10-15 minutes somewhere private to explore a single issue. Find a balancing statement that feels both true and comforting. As for the issue you work on, here are some suggestions. Choose whatever resonates with you.

  • Fear of writing about your family: you can start with general fear, but drill down into specific fears e.g. my sister thinks I should let sleeping dogs lie, and I’m afraid of her reaction or my mum was just doing her best, and I feel guilty exploring this

  • A specific negative incident that arose during the last four weeks (but don’t go straight for the heaviest one unless you are feeling incredibly strong and also have an hour to spare). Be specific e.g. “Even though Mrs Blanchard told me I was ‘bloody useless’… (and then the balancing statement).
