I found this piece via @Susan Cain… as always, weird and beautiful is always my favorite writing to read. Thank you Ros… and thank you Hal 🫡

Thank you, Susan. The other kids called me a ‘weirdo’ at school and it took me years to embrace it and see the strengths of being weird. I’m glad you found me/this. There is plenty more of the beautiful weird stuff in the writing pipeline. Yes, always a big thanks to Hal!

Wow! I also always assumed E.B. White was a woman - thanks for teaching me something new and the great read

very interesting. I need to come back tot his. At first I thought you were going to talk about astral projection or something similar. I used to know several people who claimed to dabble in that.

Followed a link under a Stephen Fry post, and am very glad I did.

I'm an adult 'weirdo' and generally, and luckily, surrounded myself with equally odd types - don't let the surface fool you, there are SO many people who keep their weird for their friends, and people that they trust.

I have a feeling I knew that E.B. White was a man, but would have answered 'a woman,' if pressed. It's a remarkable write for a man.

Lastly - thanx to Hal. That book was so important to who you are. I'm genuinely glad you saved that piece of yourself.

Me too, Shell. I would not have believed my own memory otherwise. Thank you for coming to find me here. I wondered if it was safe to share this publicly when I wrote this post but over a thousand people read it, and nothing bad happened.

I cannot tell you how beautiful it was to hear of your invisible friend. I feel as creatives we can publicly allow that aspect of ourselves to sit at our table again. Thank you for sharing.
